2022 was declared the Year of Cultural Heritage of the peoples of Russia. Therefore, the Forum is dedicated to the Russian national costume. The events of the Forum will be also connected with the 85-th anniversary of the Ryazan region and 870-th anniversary of the city of Kasimov.

It is planned that the Forum will retain the international format, not excluding the online mode of some events. This year, it’s expected that more than 200 ancient cities of Russia and other countries will join the Forum.

Traditionally, the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Forum will be held.

As part of the Business program of the Forum, the conference ‘Ryazan Land: history, culture and society. Kasimov vector’ (to the 870-th anniversary of the city) will take place.

There will be also a plenary session of the Association of Ancient Cities.

For the second time, the campaign ‘World Café’ will be held. During the event, our participants will exchange their experience in implementing projects in the field of culture, tourism, creative industries, museum and library affairs, as well as hold talks between cultural institutions of ancient cities of various countries.

For the first time, the Forum will host the Festival of Visual Art ‘Patterned thread’, the Festival of Petrushka puppeteers and the workshop ‘Synthesis of different cultures’. These events are organized by the Uzbek national cultural autonomy ‘Almaz’.

The V Festival of national collectives ‘Ryazan round dance’ and the Interregional Festival of Patchwork ‘Sewed and worn once upon’ will also take place within the V International Forum of Ancient Cities.

Cultural institutions will host the Photo exhibition ‘Russian Houses of Nice’ and the exhibition of the modern costume ‘Ethno-Mosaic’.
