Cultural tourism
The Ryazan region has 832 objects of cultural heritage, 2030 archaeological sites, more than 50 museums and eight cities posing a historical status: Ryazan, Kasimov, Skopin, Spassk, Shatsk, Spas-Klepiki, Mikhailov, Ryazhsk.
Active tourism
Unique features of the territory and natural landscape allow to develop active types of tourism: horse riding, biking, hiking. Very popular are boating and rafting. You can travel in canoes, rafts, catamarans and even exotic American canoe.
Eco-tourism
Ecotourism is one of the most promising directions in the development of tourism. There are 103.5 hectares of protected areas in Ryazan region, including the Oksky State Biosphere Reserve and the National Natural Park «Meshchyorsky.»
Fishing and Hunting
Ryazan hunting and fishing farms offer to arrange excellent fishing, crabs catching, fox and wild boars hunting, go fowling.
Pilgrimage tourism
Ryazan has always been famous for its monasteries and temples, many of which are the focus of the spiritual life of Russia and the largest centers of pilgrimage, attracting thousands of people.
Ethnographic tourism
There is a new branch of tourism that is developing in Ryazan areas — ethnographic tourism. Its focus areas are Kadomsky, Kasimovsky and Mikhailovsky districts, Kasimov and Skopin cities; on their territories the folk traditions are not only the object of study and conservation, but also a part of people's lives.
